A finer, face-first take on whipped tallow — grass-fed tallow blended with nourishing rosehip oil and whipped until it's airy and light enough for delicate skin. It sinks in quietly, leaving a soft, dewy finish with the faintest whisper of rose.
Fills one 2 oz jar20 minBeginner-friendly
Rosehip oil brings a light, nourishing slip and skin-loving nutrients, while grass-fed tallow rebuilds the barrier with lipids your skin recognizes. Whipped together, they stay light enough for the face.
Gently melt the tallow in a double boiler over low heat until just liquid.
Stir in the rosehip oil (and jojoba, if using), then remove from the heat.
Nest the bowl in ice and cool until it firms to the softness of soft butter.
Whip on medium for 2–3 minutes, until light, pale, and holding soft peaks.
Whip in the essential oil if using, then spoon into your jar. It firms over 24 hours.
Stored in a clean, dry jar away from light, it keeps for about three months — rosehip oil is more delicate than tallow alone, so make small batches and use dry fingers.
Making your own is a joy — but on the busy weeks, ours is whipped, jarred, and ready. Same grass-fed tallow, none of the dishes.
