This is the one for the days your whole body feels the dryness, not just your face. Grass-fed tallow whipped with shea butter and a light oil until it's rich but never heavy — the kind of thing you'll reach for straight out of the shower. It comes together in about twenty-five minutes.

Tallow and shea are both close to the lipids your skin already makes, so they sink in and rebuild softness instead of sitting on top. Whipping folds in air for that cushiony, scoopable texture — rich comfort that still absorbs.
Gently melt the tallow and shea butter together in a double boiler over low heat until just liquid.
Stir in the jojoba oil and remove from the heat.
Nest the bowl in ice and cool until it firms to the softness of soft butter.
Whip on medium for 2–3 minutes, until light, pale, and holding soft peaks.
Whip in the essential oil if using, then spoon into your jar. It firms up over 24 hours.
In a clean, dry jar away from direct sun, it keeps beautifully for about four to six months. There's no water in the recipe, so it needs no preservative — just scoop with clean, dry fingers.
Making your own is a joy — but on the busy weeks, ours is whipped, jarred, and ready. Same grass-fed tallow, none of the dishes.
