Head to head
Admire Age vs FATCO
This is really a comparison of two philosophies: a five-ingredient, tallow-forward cream for mature skin, against a thirteen-ingredient tallow and plant-butter blend priced for the whole body. Both are honest products. They are not for the same job.

This comparison is written by Admire Age, one of the two brands compared. Every FATCO fact below was verified on fatco.com on the date above, and we state plainly where FATCO is the better choice.
The short answer
Choose Admire Age if you want a tallow-forward cream for the face and neck of skin past 40: five disclosed ingredients led by grass-fed and grass-finished tallow, with jojoba that sits close to your skin's own oils.
Choose FATCO if you want tallow economics for the whole body: the Body Butta runs $6.00 to $8.00 per ounce in jars up to 8 oz, a price our face-first 2 oz jar does not try to match. Know the trade: thirteen ingredients means the tallow shares the jar with coconut oil and three plant butters, the sourcing claim stops at grass-fed, and returns earn store credit rather than a refund.

How much tallow is actually in the jar?
Ingredient lists are ordered by amount, and that ordering tells the story here. In our cream, tallow leads a five-item list, so most of what you are paying for is the ingredient you came for. In the Body Butta, tallow leads a thirteen-item list that includes coconut oil, cocoa butter, mango butter, and shea butter, all excellent emollients, and all cheaper than grass-fed tallow.
That blend is not a flaw. It is exactly how FATCO reaches $6.00 per ounce at the 8 oz size, and for elbows, heels, and hands it is the sensible engineering. It does mean that if you specifically want a tallow-forward formula, the per-ounce comparison overstates the gap: less of each FATCO ounce is tallow.
Sourcing: one word of difference that matters
FATCO states grass-fed, pasture-raised cattle and a nose-to-tail philosophy, and has been saying so since 2013, which counts for something. What we could not find on the pages we checked is a grass-finished claim, the stricter standard meaning grass for the animal's whole life. Our tallow states both: grass-fed and grass-finished.
As everywhere in this category, neither brand publishes third-party lab testing, and neither names its farms. The specificity of the claim is the signal you have.
Guarantees: refunds vs store credit
Both brands offer a 30-day window, but they are not the same policy. Ours is a money-back guarantee. FATCO's returns are issued as store credit, with no cash refunds, and the customer pays return shipping. If you are trying tallow for the first time and unsure it will suit your skin, that difference is worth weighing.
When FATCO is the better choice
Buy FATCO for the body. An 8 oz jar of Body Butta at $48.00 covers arms, legs, hands, and heels for a fraction of face-cream pricing, the stick format is genuinely convenient, and the 15% subscription discount rewards the routine. FATCO has also simply been doing this longer than most of the category, since 2013.
If you want one affordable tallow blend for everything and your face gets whatever your body gets, FATCO is a reasonable way to live. Our argument is only that skin past 40 deserves its own formula on the face.
Which fits your skin?
- Dry, mature, or menopausal facial skin
- Admire Age. Tallow-forward, five ingredients, built for the barrier changes of skin past 40.
- Body-first: elbows, heels, hands
- FATCO Body Butta, especially the 8 oz jar. This is the value it was engineered for.
- Wants both
- A sensible split: a budget body balm like FATCO's for below the neck, and a short-list cream for the face.
- First-time tallow user, cautious
- Whichever you pick, patch test first. If refund flexibility matters, note FATCO returns are store credit only.
Good questions
Is this comparison biased toward Admire Age?
It is written by us, so weigh that. Every FATCO price, ingredient, and policy above was verified on fatco.com on August 28, 2026, and we plainly credit FATCO with the better body-scale value, more formats, a subscription discount, and a longer track record. For body use, we told you to buy FATCO.
Why is FATCO so much cheaper per ounce?
Mostly formula economics. The Body Butta blends tallow with coconut oil and three plant butters, which cost less than grass-fed tallow, and it sells in large jars. Our cream keeps a five-item, tallow-forward list in a 2 oz face-first jar. Different jobs, different math.
Does FATCO use grass-finished tallow?
FATCO states grass-fed and pasture-raised. We could not find a grass-finished claim on the product, about, or FAQ pages we checked in August 2026. If the stricter standard matters to you, look for both words wherever you buy.
Can I use a body balm like the Body Butta on my face?
Many people do, and FATCO also makes dedicated face creams. Longer ingredient lists mean more variables for reactive facial skin, so patch test first. Our view is that mature facial skin does best with a short, purpose-built formula, which is the product we make.
